Binance spot VIP status is mainly assessed from 30 day trading volume and BNB holdings. The standard spot fee starts at 0.1000% maker and 0.1000% taker for a regular account, while discounted BNB payment can reduce that starting rate to 0.07500% and 0.07500%.

Maker orders add liquidity to the order book and often receive the stronger discount at higher tiers. Taker orders remove liquidity and usually cost more. The difference is small at standard level but becomes much more important from VIP 3 upward.

At VIP 3, maker is 0.0400% while taker is 0.0600%. At VIP 5, maker is 0.0250% and taker is 0.0310%. At VIP 9, maker is 0.0110% and taker is 0.0230%.
